America College Theater Festival Region 7

So, I have been wanting to get into public speaking as a possible side job. I have been interested in this for a while and after asking several people in the business they said to just start speaking for free anywhere that I could. As a result I applied to present a workshop at ACTF, which is a regional theater competition sponsored by the Kennedy Center. I was very excited to find out my workshop was accepted and so I ventured to Reno, NV with my friend Besty to present a workshop entitled, "Being Recession Ready: A Graduate's Guide to Creative Job Hunting" In general I wanted to present a workshop based on my experiences as a recent graduate on how to get a job in such an unstable job market. I will be posting some pictures and video from the trip later this week, but in general it went VERY well. I could not have been more pleased. I had almost 50 people attend. I was very surprised at the turnout b/c it was the first workshop on the first day of the conference and it was at 9:00 a.m. ( and these are college students we are talking about LOL) so you can imagine my surprise when the room only had 10 empty seats :) Also there was a representative from Actor's Equity who attended my workshop b/c he was intrigued and he stayed after to tell me he thought i did a good job, and gave a lot of relevant information in just an hour then he gave me his card and said to stay in touch!! It was AWESOME!!! Anyways that is about it, but I will post pictures soon!!

Sierra Nevadas

Just some of the beautiful views on the way to Reno, NV for my workshops. It was cool to drive through all the snow, but not actually have to be cold!

Tracy High School

About and hour outside of Oakland is a town called Tracy, CA spelled just like me!! Earlier this season we had the honor of touring at Tracy High School so of course I took pictures in the gym!

Jeff, Karina, and Jamie chilling out at Tracy High

In this town there is also a big power plant so if you google my name, "tracy power" the results all come out tracy power plant! LOL

Miss America Party!!

Since Miss America came on TLC and I don't get that channel at my house my friend Jeff let me host my Miss America party at his house. Everyone picked a girl to represent and the one who made it to the end got this little crown I bought. It was lots of fun and we did really well at picking winners!!! There she is... Miss "Faux" America.... Aviance won the crown at my Miss America party

Work photos

Just a few pictures on the road, and of my co-workers!

Here are the women of SECRETS backstage, this morning we had to be at work at 5:00 a.m. and then it was really cold backstage so we used the body warmth technique to try and stay warm!
Here my troupe after loading our set into our truck we are on the lift gate riding down. Far left is Tony, our road manager, then Karina, Jamie(my Oakland bestie!) and then me and then Huan, he is super smart and appling to med school right now!

This photo is small, but we have a big company. We took this year's all compnay photo on friday and it turned out great. The lady in the center with the curly hair is Regina, our program director, she has been supporting ETP for 20 years since the start of the program and she is very dedicating to keeping our shows the very best!

I was not with these two on halloween, but I had to put this picture on here becaue I have the two cutest nieces EVER!! Wish I could have been there in person to see them trick-or-treating!

Instead I was in San Fransisco with these silly people! LOL This is my friend from work Sam and a freind from college who happened to be in California visisting. It was great to see her and reconnect with someone from home. I can not wait until Thanksgiving!!!
I decided to go as Betty Crocker, mostly because I didn't have to really buy anything. I was the most clothed person in the entire city... realy eye opener LOL
